This weekend was particularily productive. I'm actually to the point where I can deal with things as I get them and think about doing those little projects I had to put off. For example, David and I took this picture for Christmas cards that we never ended up sending out.

My Favorite Place - The Backyard
I will miss our backyard greatly! Luckily it's been highly documented through photoshoots and dance films!
This only half of our backyard - that's fenced. We have another acrea behind the barn.
Last bit of interior pictures
And now - I think I'm finished taking pictures of the interior.

Quote for the day
I found this quote to share:
"The sweat of hard work is not to be displayed. It is much more graceful to appear favored by the gods." - Maxine Hong Kingston, The Woman Warrior, 1976
While it's a wonderful thought to make things look like a graceful display of effortlessness, I don't think anyone is going to confuse me with being favored by the gods. The curb appeal projects wrapped up Tuesday, May 19th and FINALLY, this morning around 1am, all the painting was FINISHED! Yeah! Now a massive cleanup today and the house will be on the market tomorrow, Sat, May 23rd.
Pictures to follow soon!

A little Midnight Gardening
Alas I am almost finished with the patio and all its gardening goodness. I took my camera out of its case and the batteries were dead. I still need to clean the patio furniture anyway.
And now it is off to bed.
12 minutes past midnight.
Over and out....

A Slew of Activity
I can't believe how much work I still have left to do before putting the house on the market. Crud. I'm making the most of my time though - work during the day, take care of personal details during lunch, yard work once I get home till the sun starts going down and then working on painting projects till late. (Luckily I wrapped up the videos and Motor Dance business.) I have a week and a half to finish up and stage the house. Awwwww! And I thought producing a performance was tight. At least David and I are still smiling. A part of me wishes for the simpler days when every weekend was filled with the enjoyable kind of gardening.

Organizin' and Cleanin'
Thursday, May 7, 2009
I've made some headway on the videos - still 1 of the 4 left to complete. For now though, I'm going to take a break to get ready for Megan and Michelle's arrival for dinner and debriefing. They made this stellar piece of art. It chronicles our three years together and it brings tears of joy to my eyes. Thanks!

Preliminary Video Passes
I've started going through the videos from the Light the Lamp show. Here are some still shots I pulled. In order - "Retrospect", "See Ya in the Funny Papers" and "Don't Hold Your Breath." (Jess Purviance - photography)

Show's over but new adventures are just beginning
The Motor Dance show, "Light the Lamp" was April 18th. It's always amazing to me that after a show, there's still so much work left to do to wrap up the whole ordeal - thank you's to patrons, compiling video documentation for the show, balancing the books and then planning what to do next. Well, here it is - two weeks after the show - and I still have thank you's and video work to do. But this year, things are different. Planning what to do next is quite complex this time around. I have been accepted to the MFA Dance and Technology program at The Ohio State University. The Wexner Center has just offered me a Graduate Administrative Assistantship in their Youth Programs. This is extremely exciting! And all this begins this summer. I hope to be moving to Columbus in July - two short months away. I still have things to wrap up with Motor, but I also need to sell our house, pack and find housing and keep my day job going somehow. Lots going on!
In any case, I am striving to update my blog daily as a means to process all that's going on. We'll see how this goes!
